Should I upgrade my system or wait?

I am trying to decide whether or not I should upgrade my system. My System Current is old, does not have audio drivers for Vista (so there is no sound), and will remain as hell when I'm playing Games like Crysis. But I do not want to pay big money for a new single system to become obsolete quickly. So how old is DDR3 RAM? Do you plan problems with driver support and new motherboard that comes with Windows 7? I want to go with an AMD ... AM3 is the best in the industry today, and how long has it been out? If anyone can give me some advice on what you really enjoy it. Thank you.

only justification most computers only to mourn the performance of Crysis ... so I'm not surprised that your PC is running .... Now for the answer ... 1. DDR3 RAM is Now the last ... 2. Windows 7 may be programs for XP if XP is a driver, I guess it will work ... 3. Socket AM3 is not the best and processors are not really better than we can get anyway game (including the Phenom X4S II), although the new platform is not worth it if you want a game system that runs Crysis need to fork some money, because it requires no CPU decent GPU. my suggestion? would be to get-> Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 or E8600 ~ Intel Core 2 Quad CPU cooler Q6600/Q9650: Cooler Master V8 or Titan Fenhe NK85TZ you to overclock if you want to save money ... GPU: NVIDIA GTS 250 for a screen 22 "or NVIDIA GTX295 for a 24" Motherboard: Asus P5Q Deluxe or better power supply: the less than 600 W as the Be Quiet! Dark Power Pro 650W Case: Antec Nine Hundred Two test or similar RAM: 2x2GB DDR2 1066 MHz RAM: 16 MB cache 500 GB 7200 RPM

Windows 7 How Soon Should You Upgrade?
How often do people upgrade their desktops or laptops?

Technology is obviously outdated and upgraded constantly. How long do most people wait to upgrade. And it seems if you buy low end gear now u have a reason to upgrade sooner compared to high end tech. which should perform nicely longer waiting for mainstream tech. to catch up. This is my current rig. how long do u think i should wait to upgrade:

Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit (i plan on getting Windows 7)

Intel Core i7 Extreme Processor Quadcore (3.33 ghz, 8mb cashe)

12 GB ddr3 Memory (1600 mhz)

Dual SLI Nvidia graphics cards 295 (3.5 gb memory total)

512 gb Hard Drive (dual 256 gb solid state drive raid 0)

additional hard drive 300 velocoraptor (10000 rpm)

intel next gen wireless w/bluetooth

Dual Optical Drive (Blu-ray rd/wrte for blue ray with lightscribe and supermulti)

Liquid Cooling & Acoustic Damping

how long do u wait to upgrade

+Generally speaking, computers stay within usable technology for 3-5 years. Sounds like you'll be OK for a while.

NERD NINJA! HIIIYAAAA!

Are You a Geek, or are You a Ninja?
Help me make a geek ten commandments.?

So, I was chatting with a extra-pretty individual earlier about what should be in a geek ten commandments. What are some ideas? Don't be focused on the number 10- say as many as you want.

Here are some of my ideas:
Thou shalt prefer either ninja or pirate and fight over which you think is cooler
Thou shalt know at least the first 8 digits of pi.
Thou shalt play AT LEAST 25 of the 30 character's games from Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Thou shalt have at least one strange hobby (rubik's cubes, balancing books on your head, memorizing something weird, playing a strange musical instrument, blogging, D&D)

Go crazy :) i haven't thought of anything star wars related yet

Thou shalt backup your hard drive without being reminded to
Thou shalt consider black sneakers as your dress shoes
You named your pet after a character in a book

What do Geeks Smell Like? - November 28, 2009 by admin

Can anyone tell me what is wrong with my sister?

Well, here's the deal. My sister is 15. She has a hair cut very short. My Mom has been seen, because it has no sense of style, and therefore has never seen an attractive manner. She never used makeup before, she takes a shower every other day and that night, so most of the time during the day that feels and looks really bad. He does not speak not boys, and shows no interest in them. She is a mother daughter full, it has never done anything wrong or rude in your life, and she sees always his four brothers, including myself, and I'm 18. I always say that snitches end up in ditches, but she seems to understand. She has few friends and they are geeks and nerds are complete like her. Therefore, all I ask is that someone says they know what is happening with my sister. Is that lesbians or what? What's going on?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. It's just growing and going through changes life. If it does not become more favorable can only lead to bad things. So just because you think their friends are geeks and nerds do not do that. Tags are labels mean nothing. What if you just relax a bit and let it grow his sister. And even if she was a lesbian ... what is wrong with that.

CALLING ALL "BAND GEEKS," any of you, will you please help me out?

I'm writing an ethnography on you guys. For part of it I was supposed to sit in on a band lesson and "observe" you, and write about it.

I would have loved to have done so but I procrastinated and now the paper is due tonight so I'm kinda.. making it up.

Can you please describe the atmosphere in your band classes? What does the room looks like? Smell like? Do you talk amongst each other, etc.? Got any motivational posters on the wall? Haha. I know it varies, I just need some ideas.

The room doesn't smell but there is spit all over the floor from any and all instruments played with your mouth. (EW). Thankfully I play drums, but that means I'm stuck in the back and it gets cluttered and a little cramped in the back. Motivational posters are not so much but we have posters that educate about music notes on a piano for instance or counting rhythms. We sometimes talk, but either in short statements or in a conversation with the teacher because he hates to have us talking, which is fine by me. Everyone needs to concentrate when we're playing a song obviously because even if you're not actively playing you need to be counting measures. Our teacher gets really pumped up and yells "YEAH! YOU GO GIRL/DUDE!" if someone plays their spot really well. If someone goes sour, or the group is off like a section is dragging, it gets noticed quickly and stopped, often with a little dramatic cringing.
Percussion tends to have to run around between songs and do multiple instruments, but it's rare for anyone else to unless they are good enough to be able to play more than one musical instrument and have a part in it (a couple of our students do).

The room itself is pretty spacious but it gets junked up like I said, mostly with defunct percussion equipment like drums and wrecked vibraphones, plus random metal pieces. Everyone has music on stands, basic stuff. We have risers built into the floor, like steps so that people can sit in levels, with heavier brass near the back and percussion in the back like I said.

How to Run Windows XP on a USB Drive - November 24, 2009 by admin

Hurry! Check out the great deals for:How to Run Windows XP on a USB Drive

I recently purchased an Iomega 500GB external USB HD. How can I use to run my desktop at startup?

I Windows XP, my team is 256 for 80 GB, which is almost full! I sent some of my programs to my external HD, but when you try to access my PC's hard to find and return them appon the C: drive and not the entire program. What am I doing wrong? How I can configure my PC to run entirely on the USB drive boot? I, m planning to put a 1 GB memory in the near future, but want to run off the USB key if possible. I had my PC for 18 months and am still learning, so I need information about As the show as possible, or even a website Addy I can go to this desire to explain. Please help! Thanking you advance.

I agree that it is better to install programs on the internal hard drive as it will be faster, and therefore reinstall using the USB drive letter (eg C: Program Files) as the place where they are installed. First, to remove the disc C: and then reinstall the hard drive. Be careful though, you do not want your USB drive "letter" to change, so make sure it is always same drive letter each time you restart. If you left the other USB devices connected to a time when you started, can be recognized first and get the letter unit was used for your USB drive and programs on the USB key does not work. I understand that you need to clean your internal hard drive, but please backup data can not be replaced (images, documents, etc.) for both units. If ever your internal hard drive fails, you will not miss the important image, etc.

How do I mount a usb drive from recovery console in XP?

Hey everyone,

I suck at Windows administration. I'm running XP Media Center and got a stop 'C0000221:{Bad image checksum}
The image url.dll is possibly corrupt. The header checksum does not match the computed checksum.'

It blue screens with this error on startup and so I'm stuck in a startup loop. Safe mode does the same.

Unfortunately copying the backup url.dll from dllcache to system32 didn't help.

I got a couple more url.dlls, but the only way for me to get them on there is with a USB drive, and I don't know how to mount it from Recovery Console. I'm having no luck Googling either.

Please help! If you need any more info, I'll gladly provide.

Whoops, diskpart told me the drive letter. I wasted 5 points to ask this. First answer gets best answer!

Use diskpart :P

Tips on Buying a Digital SLR Camera
Best digital SLR Camera for beginners?

I am looking to buy a digital SLR but I have no idea how to pick one.
I would like it to be somewhat smaller but still have the adjustable lens, and to be around $600. Any suggestions for easy-to-use cameras or tips on how to select one?

Thank you:)

Anyone who wants to own one of these cameras for the first time really should do some serious reading first to know at least a bit of what you are getting into. These are wonderful devices, I know I own one and will recommend it to you, but to be effective with this type of camera there's a lot to learn.

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/571144-REG/Canon_2762B003_EOS_Rebel_XS_SLR.html

This, I find, is an excellent camera that gives me the results I want. I'm not much on specs because I happen to believe they're mostly manufacturer fodder anyway. I look for results and this camera gives me what I want.

As I say, there's a learning curve. This not a point and shoot. You can use it that way but if you do you're waisting your money because there's so much more available here.

Good Luck
