Oh no! What happened to the clock and other little gadgets on the right side of my screen?

I have Windows Vista, and I just got my computer back from Geek Squad (they broke and replaced my hard drive). When I turned my laptop on, on the right hand side of my desktop, there was a vertical line of "gadgets." I had a clock, a slideshow, news headlines, etc. Then I changed my background picture and the gadgets disappeared =( How do I get them back????

Go to Control Panel, then Appearance & Personalization & then Windows Sidebar Properties (add gadgets to sidebar)
