homework help with the volume?
heyy. So I'm supposed to make a fist and stick your hand in a small bowl of water and use a funnel to pour the water in the flood [that falls into the pie plate] graduaded in a cylinder and measure the volume. I do not have supplies, so how can I calculate the results, if my hands are medium normalish? thank you for your help: D
It could be compared to a fist element as a pound of butter and see what percentage is more or less - that is, it looks like half the Ize of a pound of butter. You could measure a book butter and calculate its volume (L * W * H) and take the appropriate percentage. Or is the only experience with a cooking pot, pan and pour a measuring cup of INO.

Why would you use a dripping funnel in a rate of reactions investigation/experiment?
The experiment is Marble (CaCO3) and HCl. Would it not be better to add a measured volume of the HCl to a conical flask and drop in a weighed mass of marble chips. Does the dripping funnel not screw up the investigation as the marble at the start isn't fully covered by the acid. All the diagrams I see have dripping funnels so I assume you need one but what is the value in it and why wouldn't it mess up the results?
