Widgets are tiny little programs which run in the background of your Windows, Mac, Linux like Ubuntu Linux desktop. They can be used to play music, look up a word on an online dictionary, play games, and do a host of many other activities. They don't use a lot of screen space like bigger programs. They are also usually available for free on Microsoft, Yahoo, and Google. All you need to do is download the widget player for Google, or Yahoo Widgets then download or make your own widgets for your desktop.
